There are many people in my life who are expecting. I mean, nearly every woman in the childbearing stage of life, that I know, is currently pregnant. it’s quite insane. In honor of the newest announcement I have begun a baby bonnet. A friend of mine (who is not pregnant, but became a grandma twice this spring/summer) has been knitting some great things for her little granddaughter. One of the little hats she’s knit, that I adore, is a great little unisex number, that looks cozy and comfy, and the pattern is online and free. I decided to give it a try. I think I’m 1/4 to 1/3 done and would be further if the instructions hadn’t held me up. I’m not sure if it’s too late for this kind of thinking, or if there is a problem, but I’m pretty confident in what I’ve done so far, and I will reassess, or be making some calls tomorrow. At any rate, here is what I’ve accomplished…done while listening to the craftsanity podcast of an interview with Larissa and Martin John Brown, who wrote “Knitalong: Celebrating the tradition of knitting together.”
I’ll have to get her permission to post a pic of one she’s made so you can see why I’m so excited about this little goodie!
Lots of new projects starting this week. I’m chomping at the bit to knit so many different things that I’m going to need to impose some limits, or I’ll never finish any of them! I’m also hoping upon hope that I will be permitted to fly on a plane with knitting needles. I’m not someone they want to see caught up on a plane for several hours without the ability to knit…it won’t be pretty. I’m hoping that it will not be necessary to try to explain this concept, as I have yet to figure out a way to explain my obsession without sounding like someone that maybe shouldn’t be allowed on the plane at all…

Amy: the next section at first glance does seem weirdio.
Follow it for real. There is a front and a back. The front is the convex point. On this side the increases slow down, as well as the decreases after it, That is to make the point for the forehead shorter, The third point is like the first.
The back, or concave point part continues the inc/dec at the same rate as the first.
It works
I was confused at first as well.
Hope this helps
and may the airline welcome you and your needles
Kim

I’m a pregnant mommy!!!! (…fingers crossed…)
