A friend sent me this interesting article, which I was very effected by. The article is from Orion Magazine, and discusses the changes in the American work week and the effects on community, family and the individual. it shines a light on what led to our modern working life. I wish it was an article that everyone would read, so I thought I’d share it with all of you.
I hope you find it interesting and I encourage you to share any thoughtful comments that it brings to mind!
I also enjoyed a fabulous lunch at a new local restaurant. The Portsmouth Tea Company, which you’ve heard me speak of before, has opened a Tea shop/Retail store in Somersworth, NH… in a new plaza across from TJ Maxx and Market Basket, for you local folks. The food was fabulous, the service was very personal and the tea was, of course, simply the best. I tried the Coconut Rooibus Chai, which was very good, but my favorite still remains Shooshy Lala.

Lunch consisted of an amazing bowl of Cream of Artichoke soup topped with artichoke pieces, served with a piece of lovely bread. Followed by a Cranberry Sage Chicken Salad Sandwich on Whole Grain Bread, served with a chopped salad. After a bit of time spent on their convenient couch, knitting, I enjoyed a Cranberry Orange Scone. All of which were simply delightful and I wouldn’t have changed the flavor, consistancy or presentation of any of it. So if you are in the area, and want a great lunch spot, please stop in, and tell Marshall and Jeanette that Amy sent you.
